Dear Friends,
On behalf of FIH, I’d like to extend my warmest greetings to all of you at the start of the women’s FIH Hockey Nations Cup in Terrassa, Spain. This is the second edition of this major event that involves some of the best teams in the world and was created to bridge the performance gap between nations. Furthermore, the Nations Cup qualifies for no less than the FIH Hockey Pro League, which makes it even more exciting!
It’s a great pleasure to be hosting this tournament in Terrassa! The Catalonian city is no stranger to elite international hockey having been, amongst others, the 1992 Olympic hockey tournaments venue and the co-host city of the last FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup in 2022. I have no doubt that the Terrassa hockey community and fans will once again turn up in large numbers at the arena and generate this particularly warm atmosphere that everyone so much enjoys!
To the athletes, you’re at the centre of everything we do! Your welfare and well-being are an absolute priority, and I can promise you that our Spanish hosts and friends, together with FIH, will provide you with the best conditions to showcase your incredible talent. I wish you all to enjoy this experience to the fullest and make it a true milestone in your hockey career.
To the fans, your support is the lifeblood of our sport. I encourage you to come together in the spirit of celebration for our shared love for hockey.
To the city of Terrassa, the Spanish Hockey Federation, the organisers, commercial and broadcast partners, preferred suppliers, volunteers, your commitment is remarkable! Please receive our sincerest thanks for your hard work and tremendous support.
